Potomac Valley Pearls
The Potomac Valley Pearls is a Synchronized Swimming Club located in the Baltimore - Washington, DC metro area. This is a competitive team, with athletes practicing up to 3 days per week and competing in local, regional, and national competitions. Competitive teams form in September and the first synchro meet is held during the winter. Teams of swimmers compete by category based on experience level: "Novice", "Intermediate," and "Age Group."
The regular season concludes in early June with a "Spring Fling," a fun demonstration by the girls, performed for family, friends, and perspective Pearls. For some Pearls teams, the season concludes in early July with "Age Group Nationals."
The Potomac Valley Pearls began as a synchronized
swimming class initiated at the Fairland Aquatics Center in Laurel, MD in
October 1993. This class, for girls aged 8-18, quickly evolved into a team
called the Starfish Synchro Club. Ginny Chadwick was hired as head
coach. In 1996, the team was reorganized and renamed the Potomac Valley Pearls. The Potomac Valley Pearls are members of the Potomac Valley
Association, part of the South Zone region “A.” The team is a member of
USA Synchro.

Parents
The success of the Potomac Valley Pearls can be attributed to the hard
work of our enthusiastic parents. Parents support their swimmers in
numerous ways, including hosting and running meets, making travel
arrangements for out-of-town meets, holding fundraisers, designing and
sewing suits, and working with various clothing companies to design
team apparel.
